Currently: Christian Laurer has been senior investment manager of tecnet equity since November of 2006. He is responsible for the acquisition and analysis of new portfolio companies. He negotiates prospecitve investments and oversees the investment stage and the ensuing exit. He is also in charge of deal flow generation and sits on advisory boards and boards of directors.

Career: After obtaining a Ph.D. in biology, Christian Laurer was an assistant lecturer for technology transfer at the Vienna University of Technology. He subsequently held different marketing and sales positions at pharmaceutical and medical engineering companies for seven years. In 1999, he changed fields and since then has focused on financing technology-based companies. He also held a lecturer position for business planning at Vienna University’s School for Natural Sciences.

Education: Dr. Christian Laurer received his Ph.D. in biology from Vienna University. While still at university, he worked at the Austrian Research Centers Seibersdorf for three years and at Unilever’s Research Laboratory in Great Britain for two years. In addition, he received a master mechanic’s diploma for automobile repair. Several classes in business management (at Open University, among others) round off his education.
