accent Gründerservice GmbH, was established within the framework of the AplusB Program in August of 2005. It has received strong support from the Lower Austrian business world, academic institutions, R&D institutions, and governmental agencies in Lower Austria for policies in the fields of technology, education, and the economy. Equipped with an overall budget of approximately €5 million, accent aims at sparking the interest of potential foundersfrom academic institutions with a wide array of measures.
The Lower Austrian government has contributed €1.9 million to fund accent Gründerservice GmbH. As academic and R&D institutions are spread in different locations, accent Gründerservice GmBH has established subcenters in the towns of Krems, Tulln and Wiener Neustadt with the help of its consortium partners. This measure guarantees a more efficient liaison to people interested in starting spin-offs or working on projects. When fully functional, the accent team will consist of seven members, who focus on initiating, coordinating, and implementing measures to stimulate new business; executing a first evaluation of interesting projects; providing a liaison for those working on a scientific or technological project; and assuring consistent development of the center’s services.
accent’s consortium partners provide direct access to existing support systems for potential new business owners and young entrepreneurs. The Donau University Krems, the RIZ NÖ Gründeragentur GmbH, N.vest Unternehmensfinanzierungen des Landes NÖ GmbH and the Niederösterreichische Bildungsgesellschaft m.b.h will partner up to establish accent Gründerservice GmbH and invest it with their combined know-how for potential new business owners who are university graduates.
As important academic partners, the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt with the subcenters in Tulln and Wieselburg will support accent Gründerservice GmbH and all those working on projects in conjunction with experienced entrepreneurs, a wide variety of R&D institutions and other partners in the fields of finance and communication. Collaborations with tech2b "AplusB - the austrian inkubatornetwork, the Southern Moravian innovation center in Brno and its academic partners, the University of Technology in Bratislava, the University of Technology in Zilina and University Györ will also be used to make national and international expertise on academic spin-offs available to accent.
